Fear Rooms

Recently I directed a possible Sundance masterpiece, possible Oscar sweeping instant classic. It's name is Fear Rooms, a short film written by Georgia Spencer and directed by Miss Georgia Spencer and myself. On set I slated the scene so in post the editors could correctly sync the sound with the visuals. We called soft sticks to be kind to the actors and had the editors look out for the clap when looking over the footage. The whole post process for Fear Rooms didn't take long as opposed to the shooting which was like shooting the dinner tray scene from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, 3400 times. Our Post consisted of dumping all the footage after each day of shooting and having the editors look over it for continuity errors. Then we cut it together into a cohesive story that totally makes sense. We smoothly cut the film together in a continual flowing motion to achieve the cohesiveness. For example one instance the main character Jess hears a sound coming from down the corridor and looks behind abruptly to investigate it, there are two cuts that work very nicely. As for another example there is a part where a Clown terrorising her shines a torch in his face while laughing, then proceeds to shine the torch in her face and as soon as the light hits her face, we cut. The colour grade we used was a greenish-bluish tint to signify a change in dimension. As for the other scenes in which she was grounded in a somewhat reality, we chose a more saturated feel but also a genuine one.
