David Fincher Continued

David Fincher has worked with numerous composers, none of which captured a film's integral emotion like his three most recent film's composers; Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Reznor and Ross worked on The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl. The latter two are violent, deviant flavoured thrillers. They composed soundtracks that told this story. All soundtracks are woven beautifully in the edit. And it's sombre at times, the viewer doesn't even notice that they are there at times in Gone Girl. It's a sense of unease and exploring the very harsh nature many people have to deal with. As for The Social Network, a very different film to the other two, they composed a soundtrack which could only win an Oscar from Hans Zimmer's clutches with his work on Inception. The score was disturbing at times, yes. But had this spice of betrayal. They use heavy synth-infused tracks to give immersion that we are there in the room hacking a university's dorm site. That's clever. David Fincher better start looking for another project with these two.
